Description

Made with COLAN PAM™ anti viral fabric, certified by an independent, NATA approved laboratory, to inactivate SARS-CoV-2.  Masks made with COLAN PAM™ fabric are TGA approved as a Class 1 medical device.

Colan PAM fabric, in double layer knit (2x200gsm), is inherently anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Made in Australia.

  • Our Colan PAM™ masks are made of 100% Colan PAM knitted fabric. This fabric is inherently, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial. Like our socks they do not need to be washed as any bacteria or virus on the fabric will be inactivated.
  • We suggest you treat them as you would a knitted fabric, clean carefully and wash according to the hand washing instructions if you believe it needs to be washed. The fabric may lose shape. If it does then you can dry it in a dryer to help it shrink back into shape.
  • The Colan PAM™ fabric has been tested against SARS-COV-2 in a NATA approved testing facility and is anti-viral.
  • The mask is not a surgical mask. The mask is not a N95 mask. The mask does not completely seal on your face.

Important Information

Wearing a face mask is certainly not an iron-clad guarantee that you won’t get sick – viruses can also transmit through the eyes and tiny viral particles, known as aerosols, can penetrate masks. However, masks are effective at capturing droplets, which is a main transmission route of coronavirus, and some studies have estimated a roughly fivefold protection versus no barrier alone (although others have found lower levels of effectiveness).

If you are likely to be in close contact with someone infected, a mask cuts the chance of the disease being passed on. If you’re showing symptoms of coronavirus, or have been diagnosed, wearing a mask can also protect others. So masks are crucial for health and social care workers looking after patients and are also recommended for family members who need to care for someone who is ill – ideally both the patient and carer should have a mask.

Your best protection is still to keep 1.5 metres apart from other people, to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, and cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow.

Legal Disclaimer:

Akeso makes it clear that it cannot guarantee 100% protection against viral infections. However it can guarantee that the fabric used to make the mask inactivates the SARS-COV-2 (COVID 19) virus after 3 hours of coming into contact with it, so the chances of infection are significantly reduced.
